was born in Kauru, Zaria Province in 1945. He is one of the 13 children of Alhaji Abubakar, a farmer of Kauru Village, and Hajiya Habiba Abubakar, a house wife. Alhaji Yunusa Abubakar won his seat to the House of Representatives on the platform of the National Party of Nigeria. He represents Chawai/Kauru Constituency in Kaduna State. He got married to his wife Mrs. Rosaline Oje on the 15th of May 1968. He is a father of five children. He attended the Ibo Union School, Kano, from 1960 to 1965 to obtain a Middle Two Certifiatein 1965. He studied privately and attended lectures from business organisations such as the Nigerian Institute of Management. All along he has been a businessman engag ing in small scale industries such as block mak ing and garri grinding. Also, as a self-employed man he served as a U.A.C. agent in the machinery/electrical equipment division. He has visited the United Kingdom. He won himself a seat in the House of Representatives on the ticket of the Nigeria People's Party from the Ohaozara West Consti tuency. He started his western education at the Primary School, Kauru in 1955. He went from there in 1959 to the Senior Primary School, Soba. he later entered the Teacher Training College, Sokoto from 1962 to 1966 where he passed his Grade II Teachers Certificate. Alhaji Abubakar worked for two years from 1967 — '69 as a teacher. He was from 1969 — 1972, the Headmaster of Kauru Primary School. He served as the Supervisory Head master in charge of Kauru and Chawal Districts from 1976-77 and 1977 to March 1979 respec tively. Alhaji Abubakar is married and has five children. Among his many hobbies are reading novels and travelling.
