MHA DAN IYAN KANO PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY KADUNA AFFAIRS Mallam Yusuf Bayero was bom to the late emir of Kano Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero in Kano in 1933. After the mandatory Quranic schooling with Mallam Wali Sulaiman of Mandawari between 1936 and 1942, he went to Ekmentary School, Kofar kudu from 1942 to 1946 and Judicial School Shahuci between 1947 and 1950. He started work in the Bindery section of the Kano NAprintingpressfrom 1951 to 1952. He then moved over to the City office as Scribe from 1952 to 1959; Senior Scribe, West ward from 1959 to 1962 and East ward from 1962 to 1964. He became a full'memberof theNorthern Political train in 1960 when hejoined theNorthern Peopks Congress (NPC). He was ekaed under the party into the northern House of Assembly representing Sumaila. It was from that position that he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary Kaduna Affairs and transferred to the Ministry of Works between 1963 and 1965. He had theprivikge of traveling with the Sardauna to the Cameroons after thepkbiscite to canvass for improved relationship as a result of the north's winning of apart of the Cameroons. After the brutal coup of 1966, he went back to Kano and served as Scribe in the NA between 1968 and 1971 and as Treasurer between 1971 and 1976. He received his first traditional turbaning in 1967 as the Dan Ruwatan Kano and Distria Head of Ajingi. Before his present titk of Dan lya and Distria Head of Dawakin Kudu, he has ako been the Distria Head of Bichi (1983), Dan Isan Kano, Danburan Kano, Tafidan Kano andBarden Kano in that order. The Dan lyan Kano ako served as a member Kano State Pilgrims' Welfare Agency 1974 to 1979 and National Pilgrims Board from 1980 to 1983. He was ako Trustee and Vice-Chairman Kano State Musabaka Committee from 1988 to date and Member Board of Directors, Nigeria Hotekfrom 1998 to 2000.
