SARKI, Hon. Alhaji Gambo Othman

Honourable Alhaji Sarki Gambo Othman who represents Takai Kachako/Farunruwa Consti tuency of Kano State in the House of Representatives was elected on the platform of the Great Nigeria People's Party. Born into an Islamic family of Mallam Othman Mohammed and Hajia Mairo Othman Mohammed on 15th April, 1948, Honourable Gambo received his early education in an Arabic School in Kano.. At the completion of his Arabic education, he became an Arabic Teacher. Later, Honourable Gambo became an employee of the Nigerian Ports Authority in Lagos from 1966 to 1971. He rose to the top by sheer force of in dustry, dedication and devotion to duty. Bet ween 1966 and 1968. he became a Supervisor and by 1968 he was promoted Foreman by the Ports Authority. By 1970, Honourable Gambo became a Traffic Officer, a post he held creditably until he resigned in 1971 to engage in private business. His successful business career and the ex perience gained in the next eight years paved the way for his political interest which manifested itself when he successfully con tested an election in 1979 into the House of Representatives. A family man, Honourably Sarki Gambo Othman has three children, the eldest being ten years old. He is interestedin reading.
