ASHIRU, Hon. Ruwan Dorawa

Hon. Alhaji Ashiru Ruwan Dorawa was born in 1937 in Ruwan Dorawa, Sokoto State. He began his early life as a pupil of Islamic School, Ruwan Dorawa. His parents, Mallam Ahmed and Madam Inno, gave him every en couragement necessary for the attainment of Islamic education. Alhaji Ashiru successfully completed his Islamic education and soon became a teacher. But he is more than a teacher. As a devoted moslem, his entire life revolves not only around the teaching of Islamic eduation, but equally on farming and private business. No society is static. Every society, and in deed every human-being is subject to changes. There is little wonder therefore that Alhaji Ashiru became a member of the Anka Local Government Council. By and large therefore, Alhaji Ashiru is a man of many parts — a teacher, farmer, business man and a local politician. Alhaji Ashiru was not left behind when partisan politics began in 1979. Represen ting Anka Constituency of Sokoto State, he was elected into the House of Representatives during the 1979 elections on the platform of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party. Married with six children, Alhaji Ashiru has been to Saudi Arabia on holy pilgrimage thus fulfilling one of the injuctions of Islam. His hob by is reading.
