OMIDIJI, Hon. Fola

Hon. Fola Omidiji was born on the 6th of Ju ly, 1946 at Abeokuta in Ogun State. Heis also a native of Abeokuta. Hon. Omidiji is a christian by religion. He is one of the nine children of his father, the late Chief David Omidiji, a farmer and customary court judge. His mother is- Madam Maria Bombe Omidiji. He got married to his wife Mrs. Mojisola Omidiji, on the 11th of July 1971. He isa father of four children. Hon. Omidiji attended the following educational Institutions: African. Church Primary School, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta (1952 - 59); African Church Secondary Modern School, Idi- AIki, Abookutn (1960 ; 62); and private cor respondence studies (1968 - 74). He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, (ACIS) London - 1974. Hon. Omidiji was appointed Paymaster of the Cocoa Industries Ltd., Ikeja in November, 1971, he was promoted Internal Auditor of the same Company in July 1974, and Senior Accountant in January 1976, a position he held until 1979. He had also worked in the Egba Divisional Council, Abeokuta, from 1963 to 1969. From 1970 to 1971, he was with Dorman Long and Amalgamated Eng. Company Ltd., Lagos. Mr. Omidiji has written some articles on political, economic and religious issues for some newspapers. He has been to the United Kingdom, and several other European countries. He is a member of the Institute of Interna tional Affairs. His hobbies are lawn and table tennis. He won a seat in the House of Represen tatives on the ticket of the Unity Party of Nigeria and represents Egba Alake Constituen cy, Ogun State.
