YUSUF, Hon. Kolo Lawan

Honourable Kolo Lawan Yusuf, a muslim, was born in 1954 at Zai, Geidam Local Govern ment Area in Borno State. He represents the Geidam North Constituency in Borno State in the House of Representatives and he is a member of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party. His late father, Mallam Lawan Yusuf, was the Village head of Zai. He had his elementary school education at the Junior Primary School, Geidam from 1961 to- 1964 and the Senior Primary School in Geidam from 1965 to 1967, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. Honourable Kolo Lawan Yusuf attended the Borno Teacher's College, Maiduguri from 1970 to 1974, and obtained his Teachers' Grade II Certificate in 1974. He was promoted a head master early in 1975 before going for further studies to the College of Education, Sokoto, where he studied for the National Certificate of Education from 1976 to 1979. Honourable Yusuf was a pupil teacher in 1969 and a Grade II Teacher from 1974 to 1976. He got married to Kore Kolo Yusuf (former Miss Kore Madu) in 1976 and they now have a son named Ibrahim K. Yusuf born on 17th June, 1977. He has travelled widely and among the places he has visited are Niger, Benin, and Chad Republics. Among his many hobbies are lawn tennis and basketball.
