DOKO, Hon. Muhammadu Gana

Born in 1932 in his home-place-Doko, in Niger State, Honourable Muhammadu Gana Doko is a member of the National Party of Nigeria representing the Bida South Consti tuency, Niger State in the House of Represen tatives. His father, Malam Mamman Doko, a farmer by profession, has three children while his mother, Mallama Fatima M. Doko is a trader. Honourable Doko attended the Elementary School in Doko from 1943 to 1947. Helater pro ceeded to the Bida Middle School where he ob tained a Middle IV-'school leaving certificate in 1952. He took up an appointment as a clerk in the United Africa Company of Nigeria, and rose to the rank of a supervisor. Honourable Doko at tended a course at the Institute of Administra tion, Zaria from 1957 to 1958. He joined Turner Asbestos Cement Company and served as a Cashier from 1972 to 1977. The honourable member of Parliament acted as the Chairman of Lavun Local Government, Niger State in 1977. Honourable Doko married Miss Rakiya Muhammadu on January 15, 1953 and together they have five issues — Muham madu (Jnr), Fatima, Yakubu, Saidu and Isa whose ages range from eleven to twenty four years. He loves farming. He has a large farm in his home town. His hobby is farming.
