WADA, Hon. Muhammed Aliyu T.

Honourable Mallam Muhammad Aliyu T. Wada was born on the 16th of November 1952 in Kano City. His parents are Mallam Ali Kano and Mallama Laraba Ali. A muslim by religion, Mallam Aliyu T. Wada is one of the three children of his parents. Some of the influences in his early life in clude Islamic culture, literature and tradition. Hon. Aliyu T. Wada attended the following institutions:- T/Jukum Primary School Zaria, (1961-1967); Government Sec. School Zaria (1968-1972); and the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna (1973-1975). His education and professional qualifications include the primary School Leaving Certificate (1967), West African School Certificate (1972) and Membership Diploma — Institute of Management Specialists 1977. Hon. T. Wada worked with R. T. Brisco (Nigeria) Ltd., as a Technical/Agricultural Equipment representative for the Northern State (1976-1979). In his primary school days, he involved himself in wide and general reading, par ticipated in general activities especially in clubs, societies and organisations and played leader ship roles in most of them. At his post-secondary stage, he started to make an impact on national youth and students activities. In 1973, Mallam T. Wada was elected a na tional official of the Muslim Students Society and a cabinet member without portfolio in his campus students union. In 1974, he was elected the first president of the Kaduna Polytechnic Students Union. Later in the year he assumed the role of Acting Na tional President of the Nigerian Association of Technological Students. In 1974, he was elected to the substantive of fice of the National President of the Nigerian Association of Technological Students. After leaving school, Mallam T. Wada was in 1976 elected National President of "the Na tional League of Nigerian Youths", a youth organisation he helped to form and nurture. He is also involved with such voluntary organisations like the-' Scout and Red Cross Societies. Currently Mallam Aliyu T. Wada is a member of the National Directorate of the People Redemption Party (PRP) and National Presi dent of its youth wing. He prepresents Waje Constituency in the House of Representatives.
