WANGANGA, Hon. S. U.

an elected member of the House of Representatives on the plat form of the Nigerian Peoples Party, comes from the Aba Constituency of Imo State. Born into a christian home in July 1943, Hon. Wanganga's early life was deeply influenced by Rev. W. G. Pollard. After his elementary school, Hon. S. U. Wanganga attended Ngwa High School from 1955 to 1959. He later proceeded to Methodist College in Uzuakoli for Higher School Cer tificate between 1960 and 1961 where he suc cessfully completed hs studies. To crown it all, he was admitted to the University of Ibadan in 1962 where he read Economics. Hon. Wanganga has a B.Sc. Degree in Economics anda Banking Diploma (AIB) to his credit. After the completion of his higher studies, he entered the banking business where he per formed his duties with varying successes. He was once with the Barclays Bank International in London. Later, he joined the Investment An nuity Life Assurance Limited of London. He served in the banking and insurance concerns as management staff. Hon. Wanganga left the insurance world to become the Managing Director of Stanley Samuel and Company. He was the Director of Imo State Agricultural Development Corporation while he also held the chairmanship of the Aba Local Government until 1979 when he opted for active political ac tivities which culminated in his election to the House of Representatives. Married with two children, Hon. S. U. Wanganga's hobby is photography. He is cur rently the chairman, Banking Currency Com mittee of the House of Representatives. He has travelled to several places including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium and the United States.
