Mr. Bassey Hogan Itam was born on October 25, 1944 in Calabar. He represents Odukpani Federal Constituency of Cross River State in the Assembly. He attended Duke Town Secondary School, 1959-1963 and Hope Waddell Training Institute, 1964-1966 before graduating with B.Sc. (Chemistry) in 1969 from the University of Ibadan. Between 1974-1976, he was at the University of Leeds, England for a master's degree in physics. He also attended the University of Bradford, England, for an MBA degree in 1978. Mr. Itam who is a widower has four children. He is a titled Chief and management consultant. His hobbies are reading and table tennis.
