MUHAMMED, Mallam Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha

Gongola State Commissioner for Works, was born in Yola on February 14, 1944. He is the son of the Lamido of Adamawa, Malam Aliyu Mustapha. He attended Mubi Junior Primary School from 1951-54, Yola Middle School from 1955-57 and Dutse-Ma Primary School from 1958-59. Malam Barkindo later attended the Barewa College Zaria from 1960-65 anc Government Secondary School, Okene in 1966. He studied for a Diploma in Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1967-69. He later worked with the Department of Customs and Excise and resigned in 1973 to join Nigerian Ports Authority, where he worked until 1977. While he was with the Nigerian Ports Authority, he attended, A.M.C.I.T. Course at Polytechnic of North London and Chartered Institute of Transport London between 1973 and 1975. He also worked with the National Freight Company as from 1977-78. A devoted family man, he has five children, and his hobbies include polo, swimming and hunting.
