Although he studied physics as an academic discipline, his natural interest in farming has taken greater part of his time than any other profession. He is however, a brilliant physicist and politician who believes that feeding the nation first, is a primary step forward lo the industrial and technological take off that we are aspiring for. Ilis interest in rural development has also challenged him to take up to mechanized and commercial farming for the progress and development ofthe rural areas ofthe country. B.Sc Physics Work Experience • NYSC and thereafter, went into full time farming. • Established large farms and applied modern industrial equipment and scientific methods • Made success ofthe farming business and improved methods of farming and use ol"result oriented agricultural production techniques and initiatives. • He excelled in the use of modern methods and equipment, and others borrowed from him. • Joined parly politics • Between 1997 and 1998. he had already made a significant input • Appointed Councillor and Later Supervisory Councillor Nsukka Local Government Area • Appointed Commissioner of Finance in the State Executive Council 1999 - 2003 • In this position. Hon Ugvvu established in a very strong way. the practice ofTransparency, Honesty. Integrity and Accountability in private and public domains of life in the State. • Workers Salaries were paid on time, allowances and arrears of salaries were cleared. • His track record of honesty had won him the confidence ofthe people. • In 2003. Hon Ugvvu contested the Federal Seat at the National Assembly to represent Nsukka / Igboeze South Federal Constituency • Member. National Assembly 2003 - 2007 At the National Assembly • Speaks with boldness and authority against Poverty and Unemployment. • Has stood firm against Igbo marginalization in the scheme of things in the country. • Supports the Crusade for Poverty Elimination Programmes. • Has brought some infrastructures in his constituency HonUgwuCharles Onyekachi is a happily married man with two children. He is a practical man and believes that hard work and proper accountability and honesty can build a nation and an individual
