An Economist by training; Admini strative Officer for 20 years; Retired Voluntarily asPermanent Secretary on August 21, 1975. Experience: 3rd Class Clerk, P.W.D. Lagos, 1943-44; Inspector of Lines, Posts and Telegraphs Department, 1945-1949; Administrative Officer, Federal and State Services, 1956-1975; Secretary, Niger Delta Development Board, 1963-67. (On posting as a Federal Officer); Transferred to Rivers State Public Servicein May, 1969; Pro moted Permanent Secretary May 1, 1971; (served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Trade and Industry Economic Development, Finance and Education); Commissioner, Rivers State Public Service Commission, November 1975-March, 1977; Chair man, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority from April, 1977 to July 6, 1979. Married, with children. Hobbies: Badminton, swimming. Social Activities: Chairman and Foundation Member, Ijaw Youths Literary Circle, Lagos 1939; Secretary and Foundation Member, Ijaw Welfare Union of Nigeria, 1940; Member, Rivers State Movement and many other related organisations fighting for the creation of the Rivers State; and Member, Rivers State Study Group, Port Harcourt.
