Dr. Dalhatu Yakubu Araf, an elected member, represents Awe Federal Constituency, Plateau State. He was born on March 15, 1948 in Awe. He was educated at Government College, Keffi, 1960-66; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 1967 —72 where he trained as a doctor and obtained his MB; BS degrees. He later at tended the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK) from 1974-78. Dr. Araf is a medical practitioner and has served the Plateau State Government in different capacities, such as Chief Medical Officer 1979- 81 and Permanent Secretary 1981-83. He also served as the Commissioner for Finance (1984) and retired as the Secretary to State Government and Head of Service in 1986. He is presently the medical Director of Kauna Hospital, Jos —a private enterprise- He is married with six children. His hobbies are reading, and watching video films.
