Hon Alhaji U. Farouk Kaoje member of the House of Representatives from Kaoje Bagudo Local Government Area of Sokoto State was born in 1942. He attended Kaoje Elementary School in 1950 and later transferred to the Senior Primary School, Birnin-Kebbi from 1954 to 1956. After his primary school education, he went to the Government Secondary School, Sokoto from 1957 to 1960. Then in 1968, he went for a one- year course at the Mando Veterinary School. Alhaji Kaoje has the following Certificates' Senior Primary Certificate 1956, Government College Sokoto 1960, Veterinary Assistant Cer tificate (Kaduna) 1961, Senior Livestock Assistant Certificate (Kaduna) 1968 and Sales Supervisor Certificate,Yaba 1968. He served under Gwandu Local Authority as Veterinary Assistant from 1960 to 1965. In 1965, he resigned his appointment with the Gwandu Local Government Authority and join ed Pfizer Agricultural Division Kaduna as a Sales Manager for the Northern States. In 1973, he left Pfizer Agriculture Division to join Islamic Education Trust, Sokoto for one year as a manager. From there he transferred to Northco Construction Company, Sokoto as Area Manager, Lagos Area. When the Bagudo Local Government was created, he became a mem ber of its caretaker committee for three mon ths, from October to December 1976. He contested and won the local government election and -became a member of Bagudo Local Coun cil and later in January, 1977 he became chair man of the Bagudo Local Council till June 30, 1979. He married his wife Hajia Binta Kaoje in 1963 and they have since then been blessed with many children. Countries visited include Niger, Benin Republic and Britain. He is a member of the National Party of Nigeria and represents Bagudo Constituency of Sokoto State in the House of Representatives.
