Honourable Amos Okunola Dairo was born on the 15th of August, 1928 at Inisa, his home town in Oyo State. Honourable Dairo is a christian by religion. He is one of the ten children of his father, Mr. Joseph Dairo, a farmer. His mother, Madam Marian Ibidun, a trader, had three children. He got married to his wife, Mrs. Abigail Modupe Dairo on the 7th of January, 1954. He is himself a father of six children. Mr. Dairo attended St. Peter's Anglican School, Inisa,.from 1938 to 1944. He later at tended St. Andrew's College, Oyo from 1947 to 1950. His educational qualifications include: First School Leaving Certificate (1944); Teachers' Grade II Certificate, Higher Elementary Teacher's Certificate — 1950; General Cer tificate of Education (Ordinary and Advanced Levels), 1953- 1956. Mr. Dairo has had the following varied work ing career: Pupil Teacher, St. Peter's School, Inisa, 1945 — 46; School Master, St. Peter's School, Inisa, 1951 - 56; Headmaster, St. Luke's Secondary Modern School, Okuku, 1957 — 59; Headmaster, St. Paul's Secondary Modern School, llobu, 1960 - 1961; Private Secretary to the President of the Action Group of Nigeria 1961 — 1965; Personal Secretary to Chief 0. Awolowo, 1966— 67; Administrative Assistant to Dideolu Stores Limited, Ibadan 1968 — 75; Executive Officer, Post-graduate School, University of Ibadan, 1975 -- 78 Stores Manager Adonis Stores, Ibadan, May 1978 — 79; Teaching in various Anglican Schools, Primary and Secondary Modern, 1945 - August, 1961. He was a member of the Boys Scout of Nigeria from 1944 to 1954. In 1954, he was elected a councillor on the platform of the Ac tion Group of Nigeria into the Odo Otin District Council in Oyo State. From 1958 to 1961, he was the chairman of the Education Committee of Odo Otin District Council. Between 1979 and 1975, he was a member of the Board of Gover nors of Inisa Grammar'School, Inisa. Mr. Dairo has visited the United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany, France, Swit7erland, Greece, Cyprus. Austria and Turkey. • His interests include football," music and reading. He won himself a seat in the House of Representativeson the ticketofthe Unity Party of Nigeria and represents the Odo-Otin Constituency.
