Hon. Alo-Nwokeocha was born in Uburu Amachi in Anambra State. He started his early education at St. Patrick's Primary School, Uburu Amachi, 1954 - 1960; St. Enda's College Inyimagu Abakaliki, 1961 - 1965; Holy Family College Oku-Abak, Cross River State, 1966 - 1967, and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka 1970 - 1974. He had his Na-tional Youth Service in Kwara State from 1974 - 1975. Hon. Alo-Nwokeocha obtained his first school leaving certificate, in 1960, the West African School Certificate in- 1965, B.Sc. (Hons) Geography Degree of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1974. He was an NYSC Geography Teacher in 1975 at Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo Offa, Kwara State. He was also a Lecturer in Geography as well as Games Master, House Master and Farm Master at the Government Teachers' College Utonkon in Benue State. Christian by faith, he married his wife Anthonia in 1979, and they have one child. Hewas influenced early in -life by his father and late President John Kennedy, of the United States byhis actions on civil rights principles. Hon. Godwin Alo-Nwokocha has written a number of articles some of which are on "Problem of Rural Development" in 1974 and "The Role of Geographers in National Development". His hobbies are farming reading, badminton and current affairs.
