was born on the 10th of June 1937 at Amata Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Council Area in Imo State. He also hails from Uburu-Ohaozara. Mr. Oje is a christian by religion. He is one of the 40 children of his father, Mr. Onyibia Oje, a farmer. His mother, Mrs. Ogo Oje, has six children. children. He has his primary education at the C.M.S. Central School Ogwa, Mbieri and St. Barth's Enugu from 1941 to 1946. for his Cambridge School Certificate (1952), he attended Government Secondary School, Owerri. Furthermore, he qualified as a Lawyer at the University of London in 1963. Before resigning for politics, Hon. Uwandu was the first Nigerian Chairman, Chase Mer chant Bank (Nig.) Limited, 1977 - 79. Prior to this, he had been Senior Solicitor, African Con tinental Bank Limited, 1972 to 1977. Before then, however, he was a private legal practi tioner, 1964 to 1972. He is married to former Miss. Gloria C. Emesibe (1973) but has two children by his first wedding, 1963. Countries Hon. Uwandu had visited include the U.K., U.S.A., Germany, Belgium, Ghana and Switzerland. His hobbies are reading, games, classical music, and walking. Hon. Uwandu, a member of the Nigeria Peoples Party represents Mba — Itoli Federal Constituency.
