Honourable Mohammed Shu'aibu Kaugama, member of the Federal House of Represen tatives from Kaugama was born on November 27, 1949. He is a muslim by faith and was in fluenced early in life by Islamic doctrines. His first educational career took him to Kaugama Junior Primary School from 1959 to 1962. From Kaugama he went to the Hadejia Boarding Primary School where he finished his primary education in 1964. He attended the Government College, Kano from 1965 to 1969, and in 1969, he was at the Traffic Training School, Zaria. From 1973 to 1975, he went to the Kaduna Polytechnic and from there he went to the Bahamas Hotel Training College in 1977 and finally to the Florida International University, U.S.A. from 1977 to 1978. Amongst his qualifications are: West African School Certificate (1969); Certificate in Food Science (1975); and Diploma in Hotel Ad ministration and Tourism (1978). .After his educational career, he joined the Bagauda Lake Hotel Kano as Reception Super visor. When he left Bagauda to Daula Hotel, Kano he became the Restaurant Supervisor. Later he moved to the Magwan Water Restaurant, Kano as Assistant Manager. He became the Manager in charge of the Kano State Government Catering Rest House in Gumel, Hadejia, Birnin Kudu and Kazaure, all in Kano State. From the Government Catering Rest Houses he went to the Hamadala Hotel, Kaduna where he became the Duty Manager and later to the Lake Chad Hotel in Maiduguri as the Hotel Duty Manager. He married his wife A'ishatu (former Miss Shuaib) on June 14, 1974. They have a child. He wrote many articles on the hotel and tourism industry. Countries he has visited are U.S.A., Bahamas and Jamaica. His hobbies include reading, horse riding, lawn tennis, current affairs and essay-writing. Mohammed Shuaibu Kaugama represents the Aliyo Kaugama Constituency in Kano State. He is a member of P.R.P.
