Mr. Tanu Kieran Kekung-Asu representing Ikom Federal Constituency of Cross River State, was born in 1944 in Abontakon-lkom, his hometown in Cross River State. He qualified as a lawyer with an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Lagos in 1973. He also attended the Nigerian Law School, Lagos in 1974. He is a legal practitioner. Mr. Kekung-Asu was the Chairman of Hotels &• Tourist Board of Cross River State between 1976—1979, Chairman, Council of Cross River State School of Arts & Science, Uyo, 1979-82 and President Nigerian Bar Association, Ogoja Zone 1978 to date. He is married to Mrs. Kate Kekung-Asu and they have twelve children. He likes reading, travelling and farming.
