Alhaji Muhammadu Babakatun Muregi, an elected member of the Assembly, represents Lavun Federal Constituency of Niger State. He was born on June 12, 1940 in Raba, but he comes from Muregi in Niger State. He attended Elementary School, Muregi, 1947-1950; Teachers' College, 1956-1958; Advanced Teachers' College, Kano, 1966—1969 and the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from 1973 to 1976. Alhaji Muregi is a Principal Zonal Inspector of Education and Chief Education Officer in charge of Lavun Local Government Area. He is married with nineteen children and his hobbies are fishing and hunting.
