Hon. Lady Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, an epitome of beauty and hope, an Ode on a Grecian Urn, a rare breed, was born like every other child on earth but with special qualities on the 23rd of Nov. 1969. She hails from Isuochi in Umunneochi L.G.A of Abia State. Like every other child, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha had her education from a scratch but with proper preparation that has produce powerful performance in all ramifications. She attended Isuochi Central School and did her secondary education at Isuochi secondary school/Ovim Girls where she obtained her F.S.L.C and WASC respectively. But in her quest for more education, she gained admission into the prestigious university of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained a diploma in social work/community development with a credit pass in 1988. She continued for a degree programme in the same University and graduated with BA(Hons) 2nd Class Upper Division in 1993. She holds a Master Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Imo State University, Master Degree in Shipping from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (Transport Management [MTM]) in her university days, she participated actively in Students’ Union and held various position as Chairman to various committee of the students union.
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha started working in1993, as a Youth Corp Member. She worked in the Protocol Department of the Governor’s Office, Osun State. This exciting and all enriching working experience motivated her a lot and in 1995, she joined her husband’s company as a manager in the company. LTD which deals with importation of baby clothing and household items.
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha is such a dynamic and vibrant lady, a well-informed lady whose track records in both public and private sector have left no one in doubt about the height she would attain. Socially, she did not stop at mixing up in the society despite all these rare qualities; she bagged a lot of professional and social awards in various fields of endeavours. She is an associate of the Chattered Institute of Shipping (ACIS) and an Associate of Institute of Personal Management (AIPM) a member National Council of Women Society (NCWS).
It is said that some people are born leaders, and some are made, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha is a born leader, hence, in July, 2002, she was appointed the commissioner for Resource Management and Manpower Development in Abia State. As a Commissioner, she worked tirelessly to reactivate the skill acquisition programme in Abia State. In July 2003, she was appointed the Executive Transition Chairman, Umunneochi Local Government Area. Her exceptional qualities had earned her numerous honour that ordinary money cannot buy, amongst which are Nneoma Nwere Ugwu in the Methodist Church Nigeria, Nneochi Diocese, International Service Award of Rotary Club of Maryland, Enugu Rotary International District 9140, Merit Award of a visionary leader by National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS). The prestigious chieftaincy title of “ADA-EJI-AGA-MBA 1” of Umunneochi Local Government Area. ONUNEKWURU OHA 1 of Uturu Ancient Kingdom and ADAUGO 1 of Isuikwuato L.G.A Constituency in the tertiary institution and recently added another twenty two (22) beneficiaries from the nursery to the tertiary level. With the help of her husband, High Chief Sir, Kingsley Onyejeocha, she erected an ultra modern church building for St. Mathews Methodist Church Nigeria, Ezingodo Isuochi, she drilled a borehole at the Umunneochi General Hospital at Nkwoagu Isuochi, and she assisted many Abia indigenes to gain employment in the Federal Ministries and Parastatals.
Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Nkeiruka C. Onyejeocha, a fulfilled lady, rational in thinking, is happily married to High Chief (Sir) Kingsley Onyejeocha, the Chairman and Chief Executive of Conglomerate of Companies, and blessed with lovely children.
