Professor Okafor Fidelis Uzochukwu was born in 1950 at Onitsha. He is married and blessed with three children. He schooled at All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha 1966-1972, and had his G.C.E, University of London, 1972. He bagged B.A Urban University, Rome 1973-1976; M.A Urban University, Rome, 1976-1980; Ph.D Gregorian University, Rome, 1980-1982; Fahigkeits Zeugnis Fur Deutsch, Eurocentrum, Cologne, Germany, 1991; L.L.B (Hons) University of Nigeria, Nsukka, 1987-1995.
While at the University of Nigeria, he has served as the Lecturer II, 1982-1984; Lecturer I, 1984-1986; Senior Lecturer, 1986-1997; Full Professor, 1997. He has also served as the the Provost of the Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, 2007-2010.
He has conducted researches in foreign universities; University of Cologne, Germany from 1990 to 1991, sponsored by Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation Germany. International Christian University Tokyo, Japan, from 1993 to 1994, sponsored by Japan Foundation, Tokyo. University of Bayreuth, Germany in 1996, 1998, and University of Hamburg in 2000, all sponsored by AvH Germany
