Honourable (Prince) J. S. Sangha was born in Uegwere Boue, Bori in the Rivers State on 20th November 1942. His father, Chief Sangha Kote, a traditional ruler in his home place, Uegwere Boue, had eleven children, while his late mother Madam Uwakue Sangha had six children. As a boy the young Prince started schooling in the N.A. School, Bori Rivers State in 1947, and completed his primary education at St. Dominic’s School, Bane, Rivers State, in 1954. He taught from .1956 to 1958. From 1959 to 1962, he attended Regina Ceali Training Col lege,’ Bori where he obtained his Teacher’s Grade III Certificate. He was admitted to St. Aquinas Training College, from 1964 to 1955 where he obtained his Teacher’s Grade II Certificate. He proceeded to the classroom again to serve as a school master for two years. Honourable (Prince) Sangha served as a floating headmaster for two years from 1969 to 1970 in the Rivers State, but proceeded later in 1970 to the University of Ibadan for a diploma course in Community Development. He obtained a diploma in Community Development in 1972 and on his return to the Rivers State that same year, he was placed in charge of Self-help Development programmes. He was also in charge of Rural Water Supply Scheme from 1974 till August when he pro ceeded to the State University of New York Brockport for a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Business Administration. He obtained a Masters” Degree in Public Administration (MPA) in June 1978 from the same University. Honourable J. S. Sangha is a Catholic and he married former Miss Lesiwa Tornwini on August 12, 1.966 and together they have four children. He is a member of the National Party of Nigeria and represents Bori 1, Rivers State.
