Jacob Ugota, a member of the National Party of Nigeria represents Ishielu West Consti tuency, Anambra State, in the House of Representatives. He was born into the family of Mr. Nkpuma Ugota, a farmer, and Mrs. Onele Ugota in 1940, at Eguho, Ezzagu Local Government Area, Ishielu, Anambra State. His father had thirteen children while his mother had four. He started schooling at Eguho Primary School in 1950, and completed his primary education at Onueke Ezza Primary School in 1956. He then proceeded to St. Joseph&#8217;s\/St. Thomas&#8217; College in 1957, where he obtained his Grade III Teachers&#8217; Certificate in 1958. Further more, he went to the Ezzamgbo\/Macgregor Teachers&#8217; Training College where he obtained his Grade II Teachers&#8217; Certificate in 1974. The greater part of his career was spent as a teacher. He rose to the post of Assistant, Headmaster before he finally resigned to go into politics. He is married to Josephine Ugota, and has ten children.
