He was educated at Umuaro Community School, Wilcox Memo rial School, Aba; and Ladi-Lak Insti tute, Yaba where he obtained Govern ment Class IV certificate. As a soldier, Major Osuji attended Basic Infantry Training School, Teshie-Accra, 1941- 1948 as well as Administrative and Quartermasters&#8217; Course also at Teshie 1957-58. He rose to the rank of major before retiring after 36 years service in the Nigerian Army. He is married and has eight children. He plays tennis and hockey.
