He was born in Nkwerre, Imo State on June 15, 1930. He attended University College, Ibadan, 1950\u201455, where he obtained B.A. (Hons) in History and Ballfol College, Oxford 1957-58 for a degree in public administration. Ambassador Onyegbula is a retired Am bassador and Permanent Secretary and is presently a company director. He started his civil service career as a District Officer in 1955 before transferring as a pioneer foreign service officer in 1959. He was also a member of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Governing Coun cil. He is married with nine children.
