He was bom on November 11, 1935, at Ogoja, in Cross River State. He attended St. Mary&#8217;s School, Port-Harcourt, 1939-1943; St. Patrick&#8217;s CoUege, Ikot Ansa, Calabar, 1944 &#8211; 1947. He taught at Holy Family College, Abak, 1947-1948, before taking to active trade unionism. In 1950, Mr. Ikoro became the Foreign Relations Secretary, Nigerian National Federation of Labour. From 1954 &#8211; 1958, he was the Theoretician of the Convention People&#8217;s Party (C.P.P.) of Ghana. From 1959 &#8211; 1961, he was Secretary for Organisations, Nigerian Labour Party, and for about 18 years he was the executive secretary, Independent United Labout Congress. Mr. Ikoro is interested in lawn and table-tennis, soccer, and art. He is married.
