He hails from Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State and was elected from Njikoka South Federal Constituency, Anambra State. He attended Christ the King College, Onitsha, 1954-58; Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, Enugu, 1959\u20141961; Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, where he obtained B.Sc. in Economics in 1964. He was also awarded MBA degree in 1965 by Columbia University, New York. Chief Okafor is an Economist, Diplomat and Business Executive. Chief Okafor is married with four children.
