He was born on July 31, 1942 in his Fadan Kagoma Village of Kaduna State. After a successful primary and secondary education, as well as an Advanced Teachers&#8217; Course, Maikarfi went to the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1975. Between 1977 and 1979, he was a post graduate student of the University of Jos where he obtained a Master&#8217;s degree in Educational Psychology. Currently, he is the Dean of Education, College of Education, Kafanchan.
