He was born in Kibiya, Rano Local Government Area on October 25, 1954. He attended Government Secondary School, Birinin Kudu, 1968-72; Ahmadu Bello Univer sity, Zaria, 1973\u20141978, where he obtained B. Eng. (Mech) and the University of Technology, Loughborough, United Kingdom, 1979\u201483 for M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. Salihi is a lecturer in Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Bayero University, Kano. He is married with two daughters.
