(English); Appointments held: Taught English at the Ibadan Gram mar School; &#8220;Daily Times&#8221;; in 1962 Nkem Nwankwo was awarded the short story prize of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Arts Council for his story &#8220;The Gambler&#8221;. This event marked the beginning of his career as a writer.
