Employment History \u2022 Nigerian Steel Development Authority \u2022 Sales Engineer Mobil Oil Nigeria 1979 \u2022 NNPC here Mr Nzelu was involved at a very top level in the construction Phases I and II mulliproducls pipeline for the distribution of Petroleum Products in Nigeria completed in 1982. he was entrusted with the Multi-Million Dollar Main Transmission Gas Pipeline of the Escravos Lagos Gas Pipeline product for supplies of Natural Gas lo NEPA Major Plant at Egbin Lagos State. \u2022 Completed other Western Nigeria Gas Transmission system among which are Gas Supplies to Ewekoro and Sagamu Cement Works.. Gas supplies project to Ikeja Industrial Areas. \u2022 In 1991. he commenced the backbone of the Eastern Nigeria Natural Gas grid with Aluminium Smelting Company Ikot Abasi Gas Project and the Bonny Export Terminal Gas Project as the key consumers \u2022 In two decades Engr. D.M. Nzelu actively and immensely contributed to the Nigeria Gas Distribution Grid and invariably to the Nigerian Energy Sector Rose to the position of Executive Director of Nigeria Gas Company, a Subsidiary of NNPC. a position he held until July 1999 when the President of Nigeria appointed him the Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company PPMC \u2022 As Managing Director of PPMC. he had responsibility for the onerous task of the distribution and marketing of Petroleum Products nation wide up till August 2003. a period of over four years. Thereafter he was retired from the NNPC \u2022 Since retirement, he has been involved in Consultant Services in the Oil and Gas Sector of the Economy. Community Development Efforts He is a very committed Christian and has encouraged and supported many local progressive Projects in the community. For instance. I Ie helped immensely with the Development of the Local Community of Oba. The Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching I lospital Trauma Centre Oba is one of the projects he pioneered in his community. Oba. \u2022 Has championed the cause of emancipation of the Ndigbo, from marginalisation. by sponsoring many conferences to that effect.
