He was born in Kaoje, Sokoto State in 1948. He attended Elementary School, Kaoje, 1955\u201458; Senior Primary School, Birnin Kebbi, 1959\u201461; Government Secondary School, Birnin Kebbi, 1962-66 and the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Diploma in Law in 1973 and LL.B (Hons) in 1983. He is a civil servant and is married with twelve children.
