Matthew Urhoghide was born on August 8, 1955 to late Pa. Daniel Ediagbonya Urhoghide and Mada. He is<br \/>\nan indigene of Edo State. He is a Nigerian,Politician and a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Edo South Senatorial district.<br \/>\nMatthew Urhoghide had his secondary Education at Eghosa Grammar School, Benin City, Edo State and proceeded to the University of Benin, where he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy<br \/>\nPrior to his becoming a senator, Matthew  Urhoghide, a pharmacist, was the chairman of the Management Board of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ile-Ife, Osun State.<br \/>\nHe defected from the Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN) to the PDP. In the 2015 elections he contested for and won the senatorial seat for Edo South.
