He had his elementary education in Gombe and attended the Middle School in Bauchi from 1934 to 1953. He obtained his diploma in Local Government and Accounts in 1964 at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. From 1956 to 1959, he was a Chief Accountant for the Gombe Native Authority before moving to the postof Revenue Officer, a position he held until 1964. He joined the Federal Civil Service that years as an Executive Officer, and in 1974, he was promoted Senior Executive Officer. Before his retirement in December 1978, he was a Senior Assistant Secretary (Accounts.) In 1965, Alhaji Bornomaserved as a Financial Attache in the Ministry of External Affairs and went on posting to Jedda, Bonn, and Yaounde. Alhaji Bornoma has also worked as a Sub- Inspector of Hides and Skins, Vet. Department, Kaduna, Vom, Kano, Katsina and Borno from 1943 to 1951. He was elected a member of the House of Representatives for Gombe on the platform of the N.P.N. The places he has visited include, Mecca, Cairo, Jerusalem, Jordan, Khartoum Bonn, London and Paris.
