He had his primary education at Ningi after which he attended the Federal Training Centre, Kaduna from where he obtained the Account and Office Procedure Certificates. Later, Alhaji Adamu attended the Polytechnic College, Kaduna and the Institute of Administration (Ahmadu Bello University) in Zaria from where he obtained the Accounts, Audit-Executive cer tificate and the diploma certificate in Ac counts\/Audit (Professional) respectively. An accountant by profession, Alhaji Adamu rose steadily in the service from being a treasury accountant with the Ningi Local Government in 1968 to becoming a Senior Ac countant with the Bauchi State Government in 1979. During the course of his career in the civil service, Alhaji Adamu served in various capacities. He served at the Provincial Auditor in the Adamawa Province; the Senior Accoun tant with the Gombe Agricultural Development Project and as the Senior Accountant with the Wildlife and Hotels Board in Bauchi. Alhaji Adamu resigned his appointment to become a member of the National House of Representatives in which he represents the Ningi Constituency of Bauchi State on the plat form of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN). Alhaji Adamu has travelled to Saudi Arabia. His hobbies are reading, music and horseriding.
