Education He was educated at the following institutions \u2022 Catholic University of Louvain Belgium BSc Hons Economics ( 1976) \u2022 University of Brussels,M.A. in Management 1978 \u2022 Catholic University of Louvain, MScin Industrial Location and Development 1980 \u2022 Catholic University of Louvain, PhD in Management, 1982 Professor Awujo has devoted a long time to teaching, research and administration in the universitiesand through his long service of commitmentand excellence, he has produced many learned and educated leaders of today. Publications He has a number ofpublications to his credit. These include: \u2022 Fifteen journal articles published in reputed journals world wide \u2022 Six standard academic books and \u2022 Four chapters in books \u2022 Over fifteen seminar papers Some ofthe major books are: \u2022 Elements ofManagement 1993 \u2022 Principles and Practice ofBusiness Communication 1993 \u2022 Introduction to Business 1985 \u2022 Business and Government: A Contemporary Approach 1996 Work Experience Although Professor Awujo is now at the peak of his academic career, it is important to note that he came up through a very humble beginning. He started as a \u2022 Personnel clerk Post and Telecommunications Port Harcourt in 1970 -1971. \u2022 Accounts Clerk, Shell Nigeria Ltd, 1971 1972 On his return from overseas after his studies, he taught at the University of Port Harcourt till 1983 before moving over to Imo State University in 1985 where he was created a Professor. Resource Person, to Training Schools of three Nigerian Banks Major Contribution to Academic Development It is to his credit that Professor Awujo developed some courses in the Faculty of Management in the University of Port Harcourt which he also set up. \u2022 He alsodeveloped courses at the Post Graduate Department of Imo State University which he alsoopened. \u2022 lie is currently working on the project christened &#8216;The Need for Privatization&#8217; &#8211; a book project suitable for Business and Government. \u2022 He is serving as an External Examiner to about eight Nigerian universities including University of Lagos and the University of Benin. For over ten years, he has served as examiner to the Nigerian Institute of Bankers. Awards and Honours Among his honours is Honorary Citizen ofthe City ofAlabama, USA by the Lord Mayor ofthe City for his contribution to the growth of Education in the USA. Political Party Affiliation Professor Awujo is a member ofthe People&#8217;s Democratic Party. Ministering Commitment in the Church An active member ofthe Church ofNigeria, Anglican Communion where he serves as Auditor. Parochial Church Council Member and for many years acted as Harvest Chairman ofthe Parish. He is married with live children. As a devout Christian and lover ofthe Igbo People, he wants the Youths and the entire Igbo Leadership to know that: &#8220;Money should not be theirgoal ofachievement but Service to Igbo Nation and assistance to a brother in need as the Igbo wereknown for in the un-dislocated traditional Igbo Society. Unity should be our Motto.
