He was one of thelucky pupils who had the first taste of the fruits of the Universal Free Primary Education Scheme introduced in the former Western Region. At that time hewas at the Local Authority School, Ondo, from 1951 to 1956. After obtaining the First School Leaving Certificate, Chief Adegoke gained admission to Ondo Boys&#8217; High School as it was then known, passing out in 1962 with the West African School Certificate. He secured employment as aclerk in the Federal Office of Statistics, Lagos in 1963, moving later to the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria (now N.E.P.A.) where he remained until 1965. Chief Adegoke later took a trip to Britain in search of the &#8216;golden fleece&#8217;, which he secured in 1974 when the University ofLondon awarded him the Bachelor of Laws Degree after some years&#8217; of study. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1976. he also holds a Diploma in International Affairs of London University. Due to his interest in community service, Chief Adegoke returned to Ondo his home town where he set up a flourishing private legal practice in which he continued until his appoint ment as a State Commissioner. He is the Publicity Secretary ofthe U.P.N., Ondo State Branch.
