He was born on September 19, 1945 in Calabar, but hails from Ibeno, in Akwa Ibom State. He attended Hope Waddel Training Institute, Calabar, from 1956-63; Ahmadu Bello Univer sity, from 1964\u201466; University of Lagos, 1968\u201469 and also University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, 1972-75. He was the Chairman of Assets Disposal Commit tee of the Nigerian Rubber Board in 1987.Mr. Ipekweh is a civil\/structural engineering con sultant. He is a keen sportsman. He was a member of the Nigerian National Lawn Tennis team from 1969\u201474 and the West African University Lawn Tennis Champion in 1969 and 1971 &#8211; 72. He is married with three male children.
