He was born on July 26, 1946 in his home town, Akpet in Cross River State. He attended Akpet Central Presbyterian School from 1951\u201458 and Teachers&#8217; Training College, Ididep-ltu from 1963-66. In 1975, he proceeded to University of Lagos where he ob tained a degree in 1978. He is presently the Bursar, School of Basic Studies, Akamkpa. Mr. Evong is married with seven children.
