Working Experience He began his career as a secondary school teacher in 1965 at Laogun Methodist Grammar School. He left to Ibada Iseyin District Grammar School, Iseyin in 1970 and later College of Advanced Studies, Kano in 1975. He joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1973 and was appointed a Director of Institute of Education in the same university in 1984, a tenure that ended in 1990

. He attended Wesley College, Ibadan where he received the Teacher Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) in 1964. He later attended Adeyemi College of Education where he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (N.C. E) in 1968. He proceeded to the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University. . He obtained his Doctorate Degree in Tests and Measurement from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1978.

In recognition of services rendered to his fatherland and other contributions to national development, he was awarded the national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the President and Commander- in- Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan, GCFR, on 22nd July, 2010. He was awarded the Best Model Teacher by Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) on 21st October 2010. His other academic distinctions and awards include:

II. Federal Government of Nigeria Post-Graduate Scholarship – October., 1976;

III. Award on British Council Course on Testing for Communicative Programmes – 29 June to 11 July, 1980;

V. Commonwealth Fellowship, 1990;

VI. Economic Development Institute of the World Bank, Kenya National Examinations Council, 1993;

As the Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), he released the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) and Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Matriculation Examination (MPCEME) results within a week (2008, 2009) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results within a week ( 2010, 2011, 2012); 2013 and 2014 UTME –PPT & DBT within a week and releasing the results of 2013 , 2014 & 2015CBT on the examination day; he combined the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) and Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Matriculation Examination (MPCEME) into one single examination, the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME); he introduced Biometric data Capturing and verification of candidates into examination rooms/halls. Recently, he introduced Computer Based Test (CBT) for both sighted and visually impaired candidates and Dual Based(Computer/Paper Pencil) Test in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME)

Professor Ojerinde is a good golfer and a great follower and supporter of football. He also loves good music

Professor Ojerinde has scored many firsts; he is the first Nigerian Professor of Tests and Measurement. He was pioneer Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, National Primary Education Commission (NPEC), 1990 – 1991, first Director/Consultant, Centre for Educational Measurement (CEM), Federal Ministry of Education 1991 – 1992, the first Registrar/Chief Executive, National Board for Educational Measurement (NBEM), 1992 – 1999 and the first Registrar/Chief Executive, National Examinations Council (NECO), 1999 – 2007.
