UNEH, Hon. Richard Idemudia

Born in Uromi in the Bendel State of Nigeria on 27th November 1938, Hon. Richard Idemudia Uneh is one of the five children of the late Mr. Patrick Oahimijie Uneh, a farmer. His mother, Mrs. Obhajimeho Uneh a trader, had three children. Young Richard started school at the early age of seven at St. Anthony's Catholic School Uromi. He obtained his primary School Cer tificate in 1954. He then proceeded to Annun ciation Catholic College, Irrua in 1955. He transferred to the Pilgrim Baptist Grammar School Issele-Uku, where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1959. From 1960-1963 he took up an appointment in a Secondary Modern School Uromi/Uzea. He resigned his teaching appointment and became a Produce Inspector in Bendel State from 1963 - 1967. While working as a Produce Inspector, however, he read up privately and passed his General Certificate of Education at the advanc ed level in 1965. With.this background Hon.
