IMAM, Hon. Sanusi

was horn on June 2, 1939 at Kankiya, Kaduna State. His father, Liman M. Barma who was an Imam (Islamic religious leader) had seventeen children while his mother, Hajiya Fatimatu was a housewife. For his primary eduation, he attended Nuhu Primary School Kankiya, 1945 - 1949; thence Middle School, Katsina. He-later proceeded to Government Secondary School, Katsina in 1954. Hon. Sanusi had his Grade II Teachers' Certificate from Kano Teachers' College, Gwale in 1962. Between 1964 - 1967, he attended the Advanced Teachers' College, Zaria for the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE). In 1976, he gained admission to University of Car diff, Wales which he left with his Bachelor's degree in Education in 1978. Before opting for politics, Hon. Sanusi had largely been connected with the teaching pro fession. He was employed by the Katsina Local Education Authority, 1960 1971.
