MHA, MFR, OFR. PARLIAMENTARY SERCRETARY, WATER RESOURCESAND COMMUNITYDEVELOPMENT. Mr. Vincent Orjime was bom in Iharev of the old Tiv Divisionof Benue Province in 1928. The teacher turned politician was educated at the St. Patricks Catholic School Udei, Holy Ghost School, Makurdi and St. Mary's School Otukpo before capping it all witha stint at the Higher Ekmentary Training Colkge Kafanchan. Formostofhisworking life, he was aTeacherandcrownedhis teaching careerwith theHeadmastership of the Roman Catholic Schoolin Shendam. Mr. Vincent Orjime was one of thefew Tiv Nationalists who denouncedparochial politics and' opted for true Northern Nationalism by identifying with the NPCandits kaders. He was in the Northern House of Assembly as Member, representing Iharev-masev-Nongov in the Tiv Division. It was from there that he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the newly created Ministry of Water Resources and Community Development on 17* Feb. 1965. Biographical overview

Motors from 1967 to 1976 but returned home and became member of. Benue State Primary Schools Management Board 1976 and later Chairman of the Makurdi Capital Development Board) Appointed Chairman, Benue Land Use Allocation Committee 1976. In 1978, hejoined the NPN and was appointed Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Political Matters. He was Special Assistant to the Governor on State Assembly Matters in 1981. He was also Assistant Chief Liaison Officer to the President in 1981 to 1983. He was also Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Mattersfiom 19811983. He was Member, Lower Benue River Basin Devehpment Authority, 1980-82. He is currently working with Benue State Government as amember of Committee hoking into ways of reforming the Benue State Traditional Institutions and Rulers. He was decorated with MFR in 1965.
