18TH EMIR OF GWANDU, PRESIDENT NORTHERN HOUSE OF CHIEFS CHANCELLOR, UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR Born into the royalty in 1913 in Gwandu townof Gwandu Emirateof the present Kebbi State, he attended Bimin Kebbi Elementary School, Sokoto Middle School and the famous Katsina College. After the successful completion of his education, HisHighness, taughtatKatsina Elementary Training Centre and the Sokoto Middle School. He vacated teachingprofession in which he was between 1937 -43 to enter the adminstrativefield He was appointed Treasurer of GusauNA which served thefourteen districtsof Eastern Sokoto and later transferred to Gwandu Emirate in the same position. He was appointed the Distria Head of Kalgo by Sir Yahaya who was the 17* Emir of Gwandu. He later succeeded EmirYahayawho died in 1953 as the 18* Emir of Gwadu in January 1954.
