Biography Entry: PARLIAMENTATRY SECRETARY He was bom in 1918 in Kontagara of the oldNigerProvince. He went to Elementary School Kontagorafrom 1928-1930 then NigerMiddle SchoolBidafrom 1931 to 1937 andKatsina Collegefrom 1938 to 1940 He also did an Administrative Course at the U>ndon Institute of Administration in 1954. He was appointedChiefScribe to the Kontagora NativeAuthorityfrom 1940 to 1953, Councilorin-charge of U>cal GovernmentAdministration and Works Department in the Kontagora NativeAuthorityfrom 1954 to1974 On thepoliticalfrontAlhajiAbdu was amember of thepopularNorthem Peoples Congress (NPC) under which he won election into the Northern House of Assembly representing Kontagora/ Wushishi. Itwasfrom thisposition that he was made Parliamentary Secretary. " He also servedthe Northern Region as the Chief Executive of the Northern Region Marketing Board and after the coup in 1966 and creation of States in 1967 he became a Permanent Commissioner in the Niger State Local Government Commission. He died on the 4* of November 1991.
