wasborn in 1946 in Mairari, Geidam Local' Government Area. Alhaji Tijani started his educational career at Geidam Elementary School from 1953-57 and later proceeded to Yerwa Senior Primary School from 1969-70 and finally ended up at the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from 1973-76. A teacher by profession, Alhaji Tijani holds Higher Islamic Teachers Certificate as well as diploma in Sharia and Civil Law. Before his appointment as Borno State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Tijani had held various posts and worked in some educational institutions in the state. In March, 1962, ne was appointed school Tea cher in Hausari Primary School He was later transfered to Gudumbali Primary School the same year. He also served as a teacher at Shehu Garbai Primary School between 1972 and 1973.
