ADIEL, Mr. Lakamso Bila

Commis sioner for Health, Gongola State born to a Christian family on April 8,1947 at Gurum in Ganye LocalGovernment Area, started his Primary School at 163 Gurum Christian Central School in 1956 and completed in 1962. From 1963-64 he attended the Nigerian College of Engineering Technology, Asaba. From 1965 he gained admission into Mubi Teachers' College where he studied for two years and by 1967 went to Oshogbo Provincial College on students' exchange programme to complete his schooling and obtained Grade 11 Certificate in 1969. He taughtin Ganye L.E.A. Primary School from 1970-74. In September 1974 he gained admission to Advanced Teachers' College Zaria and graduated with N.C.E. in June 1977. Br. Billa was deployed to Lagos State for the National Youth Service, however he was later transferred to Adamawa State to completethe service After the service he took upappoi ntment with state's Ministry of Educa tion as master grade 111 and wasposted to Government Secondary School Toungo as one of the pioneer staff. He resigned from teaching only afterfour months andtook up a mana gerial post with a private company, International Niger BuildConstruction Company Ltd. It was from here that he wasappointed a Commissioner. His hobbies include travelling, making friends and learning language. He speaks most of the major Nigerian languages plus English, French and Swahili.
