Ajayi-Akinfolarin is a Women's Right Activist. She founded Pearls Africa Youth Foundation in year 2012, a Non-Governmental Organization that assists girls in developing technology skills through various programs including; GirlsCoding, G.C Mentors, GirlsInSTEM and Empowered Hands. Ajayi-Akinfolarin began her career working for E. D. P Audit and Security Associates. She worked at the company for seven years, beginning as an intern and being promoted to the level of Associate Consultant. Working in technology, Ajayi-Akinfolarin discovered a large gender gap after a survey by the government found that less than 8% of women held professional, managerial and technology positions. Moved by the number of girls who are unskilled in computer programming, she left her job to set up a foundation that caters to these needs. Since 2012, the organization has trained over 400 young women to code. In 2017, Ajayi-Akinfolarin also founded Lady Labs Innovation Hub, a female-focused tech centre. The centre caters specifically to the technological needs of female university students enrolled in the STEM Fields of study and female entrepreneurs.
